In the NII series, to improve the separation of the integrated amplifier, the correlation between the vector analysis of separation characteristics and auditory perception was thoroughly investigated. The absolute value of separation was suppressed to a level where it could be sufficiently ignored, and the design was such that the phase rotation would provide the most natural sound localization.
